What will we do?
Day 1:
It will sail from the port of Puno towards the immensity of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world and part of the border between Peru and Bolivia, countries that share indifferently the Aymara population. The lake occupies more than 8 million square kilometers and on its islands different communities have been developed that maintain their ancestral customs to this day. Taquile, Uros and Amantaní stand out in it. Your first stop will be at the Uros, an ancestral society that populates a series of artificial islands built on a totora base. These are made by weaving the cattails in the areas where it grows more dense and forming a natural layer. On it they build their houses and cook outdoors to avoid fires. Next you will visit Amantaní, an island of circular shape with an average diameter of 3. 4 kilometers whose rich highland customs have captured the attention of the tourism industry. After a visit to the town, you will move to the house of an Amazonian villager for dinner and overnight.
Day 2:
After breakfast you will board the boat to go to the island of Taquile, which is, unlike the other Aymara-speaking islands in the lake, Quechua. It was part of the Inca empire and you can still see traces of this culture in its constructions. However, the Spaniards also arrived, who stripped them of their typical garments, forcing them to wear traditional peasant clothing. In Taquile you will visit the local ruins and then have lunch at a local restaurant. You will then return to the boat and head back to the city of Puno.
